So I jumped on the bluetooth wagon, using T-Mobile's service (with T-zones, of course), and a SonyEricsson T610. I can sync the phone to my carputer, but T-Mobile's connection manager software doesn't seem to like the fact that now I'm connected via bluetooth instead of usb.... irritating. Searched the forum, and didn't see much along these lines..... anybody else doing this?? It works fine on my PowerBook/PowerMac, is this typical windoze lack of support (that works anyway) for new technology?? T-Mobile has nothing to say, so please Help!

I use the Sony erickson, same phone as you. I had the same problem. T-mobile really sucks at this part.
this is what i suggest
if your running windows xp, go in to the control panel, then connection
make a new connection, use the bluetooth modem, and dail the number of (i think this is right, i dont acctually know, my laptop was stolen 2 days ago, it had all the info on it) the number should be something like *99**1 or somethign similar. I know if you call tmobile, you can get the info from them
if your problem is anything like mine, they had to tell me how to reprogram my phone for internet, then it all worked.
I hope it works, if not, and you have other questions, email me
later

you need to set up dial up networking in windows to go after the phone for an internet connection. You can use the bluetooth software tha came with your bluettoth device (not your phone) to determine which com port is associated with the modem profile for bluetooth. Then tell that same software to go after you 610 when it needs a modem on that com port. In the dial up settings you need to dial *99***2# i know the password field should be blank and i'm not sure weather the user name field can be blank or not. I recall it being blank but i can see that i have something in there now.
good luck
I don't use the Tmobile software, I just set up a network connection via bluetooth:Originally Posted by BravadaguyCSU

Also, it only works when you are in a Tmobile service area (even though you may have cell service).
I did have trouble initially and had to contact T-mobile, after 2 or 3 people I finally was called back by a tech in Australia....???
Hope that helps.

I connect via bluetooth all the time with my T610. You just need a bluetooth adapt on your laptop.
Also try using the drivers that come with your T610. It's on that CD that comes with the phone.
Thanks for the input guys, I appreciate it!! These suggestions did end up working. Especially Bankingdom! FYI - I did search, and the thread you "suggest" doesn't really answer my questions. I'm not an idiot, I know how to search forums. Just because It says newbie next to my name does not mean that I have no idea what I'm doing (this is my 3rd carputer, do you have a 15" in-dash touch screen and a Masters degree in EE? Didn't think so.). As the age old saying goes.... If you don't have something nice to say.........
