I'm also happier using PAYG GPRS just in case it stays connected for some reason - I'd cry if I got a mobile bill on contract for 100s just because of internet access.

If you are at the meet you're welcome to look at how mine is setup although its probably very similar to James'

GRPS can be left always on. That was the original plan. You only pay per k of data sent or recieved. Obviously if you leave it on there is a good chance it will sned or recieve something which is why most people close all connections when finished browsing wap. But yeah another advantage of PAYG is that it stops huge bills.

Yeah I know its payable per k of data but all it takes is a piece of software to send loads of data for some reason and your bill is sky high ......

OK I have to ask...how do you get your CarPc to use GPRS?

I have already set up my SE P900 to use as a modem over bluetooth...that was easy...

    Is GPRS faster?

    Thanks

you use the right "phone number" and the phone realises and connects to gprs instead of dialling - its somethnig like *99**3# ( the last number being the ID of the GPRS connection set up on phone, mine is third )
