Don't think this has been posted before.
What would the use of this be? I can understand WiFi, but not for bluetooth.

this is onlu "useful" if you want to hack people's cellphones and other bluetooth devices. the study that created some of these ideas was able to connect to a bluetooth enabled cell phone over a mile away.
most cell phones with bluetooth are completely open and ready for any AT modem commands you throw at them.
Hold on here - just realized something.....your dongle can transmit at a 1-mile range, right? What about the accessory/handset accessing the dongle? That unit still has the same trasmit power without the benefit of the uber-antenna.
This is like the wardriving concept - you could have a super-powerful wifi antenna and 2mw amp and you could see a bunch of AP's, but you won't benefit since the AP's still possess the same transmit power. Someone once gave the analogy of 2 people standing at oppositve ends of a football field. One person at one end would yell while the person at the other end would only whisper.
Anyways, maybe I'm missing the point.
Right, except the person who yelled also has super hearing.Originally Posted by hd54321

thanks for the clarification - I felt the logic was flawed somewhere
