Anyone using this with a ppc 6600? It has EVDO capability. Does that need to be/can that be disabled to use the minutes only ability? It seems like some ppl are saying Verizon changed it so that you definetly can't do this anymore but then others say it is still working.

If I attempt this I would like to make sure that I am not being charged per kilobyte. However, my bill is sent to another address. How can I check to see if I am being charged data rates without the bill?

Search howardforums for locking 1x data. It'll disable EVDO and just use minutes.

Got my cable today, connected it to my vx3200 and.... NOTHING . My lap top doesn't even recognize the device I jammed into it's USB port. No promp no "bluup" nothing. How depressing. Maybe that's what I get for buying the $5.00 cable off eBay .

Billing, shipping, and end-user address must be within Verizon Wireless licensed and service area where wireless device number is issued. Verizon Wireless calling areas, rates, agreement provisions, procedures, and policies are subject to change as specified in Customer Agreement. You are responsible for maintaining virus protection software when accessing a Verizon Wireless data service.
Unlimited NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess:

Unlimited NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess data sessions may be used with wireless devices for following purposes: (i) Internet browsing; (ii) e-mail; and (iii) intranet access (including access to corporate intranets, e-mail and individual productivity applications like customer relationship management, sales force and field service automation). Unlimited NationalAccess and BroadbandAccess cannot be used with server devices or with host computer applications. Examples of such prohibited uses include, without limitation, web camera posts or broadcasts, continuous jpeg file transfers, automatic data feeds, telemetry applications, automated functions or any other machine-to-machine applications. Such data sessions cannot be used as substitute for private lines or frame relay connections. "Always On" capabilities and static Internet Protocol addresses are not available. We reserve right to deny or terminate service, without notice, to anyone who uses NationalAccess in any manner prohibited above or whose usage adversely impacts our network or service levels. We also reserve right to terminate service upon expiration of Customer Agreement.
NationalAccess Megabyte Plans:

Megabyte allowance and charges for kilobytes over the monthly allowance apply to NationalAccess data usage; all other usage charged in accordance with calling plan. NationalAccess data usage is rounded to next full kilobyte at end of each billing cycle. Only total of kilobytes transmitted above allowance each billing cycle may appear on bill. You are responsible for all charges, including all data sent and received and "overhead" whether or not you or your recipients actually receive the data. Overhead is all data that is in addition to user-transmitted data, such as control, operational and routing instructions, error-checking characters as well as retransmissions of user-data messages that are received in error. Any unused portion of the megabyte allowance is lost. NationalAccess data-capable tri-mode equipment with updated software is required. Customers must dial *228 to activate on or migrate to the NationalAccess Megabyte Calling Plans and to update their PRL to receive proper notification. Equipment will not indicate kilobyte usage.
NationalAccess Calling Plans:

Unused airtime minutes are lost. Airtime minutes are not transferable. You will see 777-000-0001 in dialed digits column of bill for NationalAccess data sessions. NationalAccess data session automatically terminates after 5 minutes of inactivity. During data session, if you travel outside NationalAccess area, or connection is otherwise unavailable, but you continue with session after returning within five minutes, you will be billed for entire length of data session.

Anyone have any experience trying the Motorola V3 Razor?

I'm using a Samsung A-670 now with pretty good speed much of the time,
but it frequently will disconnect. Sometimes it will drop tehe speed to almost nothing, but that may be due to limitted bandwidth in our rural area.
But, it is time for a new phone and I'm wondering if these are going to be in the running.
