Thread: How to use your VERIZON cell for FREE internet

I have an LG VX8300 Verizon phone and would like to tether it to my laptop and get my laptop on the internet like the good old days. Is there a way to do this for free? A tethering hack...something?? I read through this forum and if something is listed then I've obviously missed it. I want to get my laptop online using my cell phone and data cable that I have....I don't care if the speeds are slow. If someone knows how to do this please post back...thanks!

My phone is a Samsung SCH-U620 and I'm connected via bluetooth.

but are you sure that you are using minutes and not data, because that was pretty much the whole point of this thread. Could you find out if only minutes are being used? or if data is used? Thanks in advance!

i'll report back when i get my next statement, which will be end of Jan. I'm not using it much/at all, just wanted to see if i could get it to work. nice to know i have it if i need it sort of thing

What kind of speed do you get. Anything worthwhile?

its was decent. When I first used it the other night, it was tolerable.

just connected and tested it (course internet is a little busier right now)...

just did it again using the mobile speed test and got 158 kbit/sec
