Hey Just wanted to say thanks for your post. Sorry its been a month. I just got a new phone. I will have to try and unlock it so it thinks its the Vcast stuff. I have the HTML internet on my phone that i have been using but it falls under my VCast i think. not sure I haven't been charged any data or minutes for it LOL. I will play around with it and follow the posts from the begining thanks again

Does this entire thing still work? I mean does this still use up minutes and not data? I have a LG VX9100 (EnV2) and this won't charge me on Data usage right? Everytime I connect to #777 using (mynumber)@vzw3g.com with vzn as password on my computer, my phone shows EVDO data usage. Although I am able to connect to the internet and able to use it, I'm still worried this is going to use up data and not minutes (excluding nights and weekends)
(btw I did unlock the DUN thing using QPST)
Just worried I'm going to be charged like crazy on data usage and not minute usage....
I'm pretty sure it uses data, not minutes. I believe somewhere in this thread someone else mentioned that.
After checking my recent bill, I didn't notice any calls that were listed as #777 or anything like that. I'm almost certain it is charged as data.
hrm............interesting........
I have a Curve, so i already have unlimited data on my plan...........anyone know if there is a cable available for the curve??? :D
I'm sure there is a cable for just about any Verizon phone, especially if it has V-cast which I think they all do. You may only be able to find the cable as part of the V-cast pack that Verizon sells. They usually run about $30. I'd check their site or a local store.
ok corect me if i'm wrong here, but the cable just connects the phone to the computer via USB, right? I already have a cable like that that came with my phone.........
I downloaded the drivers, and setup a connection, but nothing happens when it tries to dial........seems like it's just not telling the phone to do anything
Right, the cable would just hook your phone to your computer via USB.
When you set up the connection, did you make sure to set it to use the phone as the modem?
