tried calling futuredial, they wont even offer an idea of how to do it since they discontinued the drivers (and thus the support for them) about 3years ago

so much for that idea..... $15/m more...

though now that i know for a fact that this computer CAN control the phone in some way, now comes the question of who can/will make a reliable plugin for RoadRunner so that I can control my phone through my frontend

It's my understanding that with CDMA phones, the phone control will always be non-existant. Every phone is different (pretty much) so an app would have to be written to support a vast array of phones, or be built for one specific phone. There's really no generic control out there. It's the problem that plagues the BitPim program as well.

    How I understand it anyway.

    Try RevFE
The best resurrected frontend I've ever used, period.

I don't know what drivers you have for your Curve, but with my KRZR, the drivers from Motorola include drivers to make it a USB modem. I'm pretty sure you need something like that.

Have you unlocked it with Qualcom? I had to do the with my KRZR. Otherwise, I would just get a page that said I need to sign up for DUN networking. I would still connect, which it sounds like you can't even do that.

at this point...i dont even care

i'll just slap a wireless N card in the system and use hotspots when i really need internet...

i'm not going to pay verizon more money a month on top of the BS $30/m data package, just so i can have internet once in a while, while i'm on the road....i dont need it THAT badly. plus, with the phone being used as a modem, if someone calls me, i lose internet instantly, no warning, no straight to voicemail.....that's kinda unreliable...the only thing i really wanted this for was so i could make use of things like the gas price finder, movie listings finder, stupid stuff like that... i can check my email on my curve...
