    USB version Cantenna/wifi questions

So, i bought this house thats behind this lil private college. Never thought about it, but i hooked up my wireless finally and BAM! i had me an ok connection.

Now I need to get a stronger signal I have looked at the various cantennas but they seem to be for pcmcia, i would rather have a USB one to hook up to my main computer. Although i do have a laptop.

Are there any usb adapters which allow optional antennas to be put on?
I dont have that far I have to shoot for, but definitely want a better antenna.

Also i have a dlink router, dont know if it would be possible to hook antenna to that so that all my computers in my house could get access to the internet.

any suggestions would be helpful! having a lil problem with logic.

Ideally i would like to be able to still use my router on my network in house, but get the internet from across the street

    hope that makes sense

    thanks!

i have the linksys PCI WMP11, I bought a 10 foot pigtail from fab-corp.com and made the cantenna using a pringles can. Though I noticed a huge gain over the stock 3dB antenna, i would not recommend such a card for this use. My netgear usb MA111 gets a much strong signal, and its the size of a pack of gum. But check out fabcorp, they do have amplifiers and powered devices, I'm sure you could also find better deals elsewere. But remember, your not limited to PCI, there are PCMCIA to PCI adapters for many cards and many USB devices available.
