Sirius Antenna on a 802.11g card

ok, this is probably a stupid question, but i really dont know too much about wireless technologies...i should, but i dont! i have no idea how the sirius antenna is built, but it looks like some omnidriectional wi-fi antennas.

I have an car mount Sirius Antenna and i was wondering if i could plug the connection end into the end of a 802.11g wireless card. The connectors are the same. Has anyone ever done this before, or is it even possible.

I wouldn't. The power ratings could be different, the signal will definately not be decoded. Sirius recievers, I believe, require 8 microchips just to work on the signal.

at 40 buck a pop thats an expensive antenna to be messing with. I dont think you will get any extra out of connecting to it and I would think you would hurt the sirius signal performance. also when you run a wifi antenna cable very far you loose a LOT of power. thats one reason you see alot of the extender cables at 3ft.

okay, just to let you guys know....i tried it.

first of all im using this on a 'B' card, since i dont actually have the 'g' yet...
without the sirius antenna just the factory dinky antenna, im getting a signal of 65% in my bedroom about 60 feet away. With the sirus antenna, im getting a signal of 87%, which seems like a good improvement.

however, i think that could be from locating the antenna outside of my car. i think if i actually use a wifi antenna it could be more
