why isnt my orinoco working with netstumbler?

hey, i bought a orinoco gold card, and when i open up netstumbler it says the device isnt functioning properly. can someone help, do i need different drivers?

edit: ok, its not working at all, i opened up winC and searched for networks right next to my modem, nothing!

so whats up, im pretty sure i installed it properly, i followed the instructions.

I think your card might be bad, or the connection. Orinoco is almost guaranteed to work with netstumbler.

mine has no antenna, this doesnt matter does it?
anyone know where to download orinoco drivers that mite help?

It should have an opening for an external antenna, but it has an antenna on the inside.

XP has the drivers for it. If you uninstall it, and reinstall it as a Lucent card, you won't have any problems. Unless, the card is bad.

I have the same card. WinXP with no service packs picks it up correctly w/o any drivers. The only drivers I ever used were patched ones for kismet/linux. You shouldn't have any driver problems with this card unless something is pretty messed up.

ok well the problem isnt installing it, but when i open up netstumbler it says the card is not functioning properly. and with another program it doesnt pick up n e networks where i know there shud b. can n e one help?

make sure that your orinoco is selected in the device list in netstumbler.

done that, still nothing, but its weird, ive got two devices, one works fine in another program but the card doesnt, but then they both dont work in netstumbler. And yes ive tried the card in the other program, still doesnt work.

anything else?

installed new version of netstumbler, downloaded different versions of driver, works fine now. thanks for the help guys, lucky too, the ebay seller i brought it off was giving me the cold shoulder asking for a refund. assholes.
