first thing you've posted your question in the wrong forum. Anyway, to answer your question, that screen takes composite input only. To convert it to VGA would be way more trouble than it's worth. If you really want to use it, you will have to have a video card in your computer that can output to composite (TV-out), if you do this however, the quality will be quite poor and you probably won't be able to read text on that small screen. I would suggest you buy a VGA screen for use with your carputer.
What everybody else said. If you can return the Pioneer, I'd do it. The Pioneer only takes composite video inputs. That is different from the VGA output that computer monitors use. That is a digital signal.
However, I see that you list an Epia as your computer. If you are unable to return the Pioneer or do not wish to purchase a VGA screen, you can use the S-Video output on your Epia. Get an S-Video to RCA adaptor (very cheap) and use an RCA cable to connect it to your Pioneer. To preview the difference, hook up your computer to a TV and you'll see the difference.
You may have to adjust the settings in your BIOS to get the video output to work.
Can/t remember if yours has a nav input but, Input threw the pioneer nav input. It's a cga input, you can get a scan converter on the net to take vga to cga. Also search google for the pinout of the pioneer nav.
Done it with pioneer and the alpines. Looks pretty good buy not like a normal vga monitor....
well since you say the visibility won't be as good as a vga i will just go and buy a vga screen like you say.. thanx for the info bug and BMO.... whenever i am finish with this setup i will put some pic and sorry for posting in the wrongf fourm...Originally Posted by Bobby Digital
