    Sony-Ericsson k750i Anyone?

So I got this new k750i, and it rocks and stuff, I finally got iSync working with it on my mac, however, I want to use it with my xp based carpc, specifically with phonecontrol.

Really i don't have any one specific question, I've never had problems with getting bluetooth setup with my past phones, however i have been having problems getting bluetooth rocking with this phone, and I figure since the s710a and k700i are so close to this k750i, I would ask if any of you owners of the aforementioned phones have had problems with winxp and bluetooth, and maybe even specifically with k750i and dlink bluetooth dongle bt120 or something like that i think is the model number.

Anyway, outside of not getting windows bluetooth connectivity, this phone is quite possibly the best phone i've owned so far, and i've owned quite a few

I was thinking about getting that phone. Where did you import it from? I hope it supports PhoneControl, that's a deal breaker for me.

Zip-Lock .. I read somewhere that it does support PhoneControl, it has every bluetooth service available, but for some reason my bluetooth stuff is jacked up, however it works like a champ and i can do all sorts of stuff on my powerbook with it.

I got it from x1387 on ebay, very reputable dealer. However, be forewarned, purchasing from myworldphone.com you run the risk of getting one of the bugged versions, in fact there is a whole batch that got sent to o2 subscribers, as well as to several HK/asian vendors that would crash after going into standby for a certain amount of time.

I got lucky, and from what I've read on esato.com and howardforums.com, most all x1387 purchasers, me included, have had no problems with theirs. I also bought an HBH-662 to go with it.

I was thinking of setting up a new home computer and my carpc box needs a good reformat and reinstall also - been running for about 2 years nonstop now

I think that is what is up, plus I tried to follow that widcomm 4 post in the phoco section of the forum and had little luck, and i think that jacked up my bluetooth setup on my pc.

Btw, you ever get on #mp3car anymore? It sucks that not very many people take advantage of it. I remember when we first started it Anyway, I'm just reminiscing now about the old days.

    I have a k750i - Toptastic phone

So far no problems with BT(Widdcomm 4) and WinXP.

Communicates with PhoCo fine - just need to spend the time to configure it properly for sound over pc, although I'll probably send the sound to my BT car-kit.

From what I've gathered so far, the PC doesn't have headset profile (but obviously the car-kit does).

Apart from this, I love it

    Stoo,

What bt dongle are you using? Did you start from a clean install of XP, or did you do the uninstalling, etc of all of the old bluetooth stuff that you had installed.

I am using the bluetooth "hub" that comes with my Logitech keyboard/mouse (MX Duo) set.

The USB dongle is unbranded but the Widcomm drivers recognise it as an "Air2U Bluetooth Device"

The WinXP install was clean but I installed the Widcomm4 drivers prior to inserting the dongle for the 1st time.

    Hope this helps...

you should use the audio gateway profile on the pc to hear sound from your speakers. In your phone you have to put the pc as a handsfree device (this doesn't work on my K750 and I'm waiting for firmware upgrade).

IT appears the BT in the K750 doesn't work 100% yet (if you are unlucky). I'm missing some services on mine and I don't know why. Also using widcomm 4.

This phone also supports simultaneous connections which allows you to connect to your pc and carkit/headset at same time. Switching should be possible but sometimes that doesn't work also on mine.

these minor bugs are nothing compared to all the advantages of this phone. It's far beyond toptastic, it's .......... (no words for it)
