The D-Link util is more easy toget a connection with, so it's best not to let WinXP configure your wifi. Do you have some sort of firewall installed in your car? If this is the case, you have to tell it that your home network can be trusted, otherwise you won't be able to connect to your home network...

Normally XP's firewall doesn't block a home network, but you can disable it to have a try.

Ahh I know the one you are talking about. It is weird that that one is giving you problems. From what I heard that is one of the more compatable ones. One of these days I will find a usb stick type that some one can confirm to work with netstumbler.

I have the Netgear WG111 (not sure if it's the V2 or not S/N starting with WG72... and FCC ID: PY3WG111V2) and I can confirm that it's working with netstubler 0.4.0

But on the other hand I get very low connection speed running on the 11b network to my D-link AP. Topspeed has been at 10K/s...

Trying to sort it out... But it do work with Netstumbler.

Thanks for the info. I have a dlink nick in my car pc and as far as I'm concerned it was over priced for what it is.

I can't even connect 1-2feet away from the thing with my laptop. Oh well its taking up far to much space any way.
