EDGE set as PC modem - incoming call issue

I had a question with EDGE connection

i want to buy an edge supported set and connect it with my pc/laptop and browse net with the pc/laptop

EDGE is supported with my GSM provider.

while using net in such way would i be able to receive incoming calls? or would the caller receive "bz/cannt be reached" kinda error msg?

Not 100 percent sure about edge, but when I used GPRS, the phone would ring even if I was surfing or downloading something. I have a feeling they are the same.

a friend had diffrent experience with edge though

while he was surfing net (from laptop) with a gprs set over edge network i gave him a call. n i just got a "cannt be reached" (the same msg we get for cell switched off) msg

With Cingular - you may get the call. If you are passing a lot of data, you may not get the call. However this has only happened to me rarely. Most times the internet connection pauses and the phone rings.
