    PC 5740 HIBERNATING issues

I just installed Verizon's PC5740 card and after the disappointment that it doesnt have an antenna plug; I had an issue with the drivers stopping the hibernating process.
"Hibernating stopped due to PC5740 (Curitel) drivers having a conflict with software or update the drivers"
Anyway, I called Verzcrap and I get a lady on the phone that says that as long as the "phone dials" out there is no support from Verizon!!! I went fuming and asked to speak to a manager....
Well, after 5 mins I realized the ***** was messing with me and I gave up!
So I took the PC out of the car, took it home and started some troubleshooting.
First, I updated the drivers, (which I guess are the same)
Second, I disabled all start up items, and ualllah!! I didnt bother to check which drivers is conflicting with the software but there it was! Some crap Verizon makes!! $80 for this support!!

    pulled from another thread...

I have this card, it has latency and hanging problems, but they're all verizon's software...
set up a dial up networking:
    number: #777
    name: [email protected]
    password: vzw

after I removed the verizon manager and venturi I tested my speed at dsl reports and got:
    Your download speed : 828 kbps or 103.5 KB/sec.
    Your upload speed : 114 kbps or 14.3 KB/sec.
    and my latency is gone.

I did that already, it works much better.
All I wanna figure out now is how to make sure it autodials always without assistance from me.
I'm also interested in knowing how to set it up so that it dials the connection from the log-on screen. I guess some kind of network log-on at start up.

    Hmmm...

If you're running windows, you might try:
    Control Panel
    Internet Options
    Connections (tab)
set verizon as your default if it isn't already
choose either dial whenever a network connection is not present or always dial my default connection.

adding insult to injury... in a recent review, only the pc5740 failed to provide evdo connection to the new kyocera kb1 router.

    yep.

I was searching for an EVDO router that doesn't cost over $500. I don't want to mess w/ building a stompbox.

    dunno...

Whenever they get around to it I guess... The review I first found said november, but their site says it's not available yet. http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/kr1-router/
but evdoinfo.com had one to play with already, so they have to be somewhat close...

There's a weird scheme going on evdoinfo... They seem to be pushing a lot of their products and I saw in a forum that they had Kyocera routers installed in a fleet of car service in NYC a while ago....
I hate it too how they released a software that it was meant to reduce latency on Verizon and then discontinued it to push their boosterantenna crap!
