I use a treo 650 from and want to use my internet connection with my car pc, I am looking for recamendation for a card that I can use, I was using a Ambicom bluetooth card with my T-Mobile service and it worked well but with Sprint I can get them to connect.

The Treo 650 has bluetooth capability.
All you need is a bluetooth adapter for your PC, then you connect to the Treo via bluetooth and use it as access to the internet.
The PC-card your'e talking about is basically like a second phone, but it only has data access.
he wants to use his phone as a modem, that's what he's trying to say. I have a D-link BT USB dongle. Its the size of one of my digits in my finger, althoguh i never used it to connect to a phone before, but to a T1 palm. Hopefully it should work. I think i'll use in my my carputer though. all else fails get the cable. Chekc out other forums (a phone forum) to see who got ti to work. I know such features are provider dependant.
A BT dongle on your computer should be able to access your BT phone as a modem and dial out regardless of your carrier, data plan, etc. Internet connections at higher speeds through the cell phone are dependent on the carrier, plan, etc. Howard Forums will have all the answers for your specific case.Quote:

If it tries and fails, meaning your phone dials out but wont connect, your problem is service or password related. Check Howard forums for your particular service logon instructions.Quote:

I would understand your feelings of persistance towards getting it to work, believe me, it took a bit of time to get my PDA to work ad hoc despite years of networking expereince. I would say, keep at it, research till your eyes bleed, try your luck, and brag about it in this thread when you get it right, which you eventually will :).

Your computer and a BT enabled cellphone can connect, as if there was a cable between the two, if your computer is equiped with a BT "dongle" This connection is like any other corded connection, except it is wireless. It is very similar to a cordless phone for your home. Instead of a wire between the handset and the base of a cordless phone, the connection is made wirelessly.
Now, once the "wireless" connection is created between the computer and the cellphone, your cellphone "dials" into the service. This requires that certain setting be present on your cellphone (think of it like changing your home phone from pulse dial to tone dial) Once the settings are correct, the cellphone "dials" (kinda, it is not REALLY dialing, but attempting to establish a connection) into the ISP (which is actually the cellphone carrier). The ISP then askes for a username and password. Now, if you are having problems with connecting to the ISP, you must contact the ISP, or determine from other sources like Howardforums, the proper username and password to use. Here is the thing, the fact that you can not connect to the service, though it dials and attempt to connect, HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BT CONNECTION. Sprint and T-Mo tell you that because they are complete idiots, and also because, they would rather not have to deal with you on the phone. In call centers, numbers are everything. If they can tell you that you need to call someone else, or work it out yourself, then they can move on to the next caller. That is just a fact of life. If there was a problem with the BT connection, you wouldn't be able to dial, just like you would not be able to dial a phone number on a cordless phone if there is a problem with the wireless connection between the base and the handset. The fact that you are able to dial, and not connect, indicates that either a setting is wrong on the cellphone or with the username and password.

THis is not the problem, the username and password are correct the problem is in the BT Manager software, THe Ambicom software for some reason starts the dialup process and then time out, but
thanks for all the info and I will try to be more accurte with my discription...but I got it working I got a D-link DBT-120 usb BT adapter. After I installed the driver (Manully) "IT WORKS" at the speed of about 115kb
I got my info for my phone from this site http://vocaro.com/trevor/treo-dun/ the only thing I dod not have to do is load the crack because the latest updates give access to "dialup networking"
