    USB EVDO Solution !!!

Although itz in Australia this might mean that they're planning to bring it to the States soon....
This is a great alternative for PCCards and it works on MAC OSX! Itz a bit pricey $500AUD ($670USD) and I didnt look for feedback from other costumers.

Just go for one of these instead - a USB to Cardbus adapter:

    http://www.elandigitalsystems.com/usb/u132.php

This adapter is specifically made to handle EVDO/CDMA type PC Card wireless adapters.

It works with the Verizon V620 - isn't that what you have?

    -G

Edit: The U132 adapter is $192 for pre-orders here:

They've been trying to make this one for a while... Elan was claiming to have it but they never did...
So this would be pretty good,,, especially for people that wanna get a little more usage from their $80/month and get to use it at home!!

You can get the Kyocera KR1 Router - that works with EVDO for about $200

It not out yet - be a few weeks I think some time in February

I wouldnt mind for my PCMCIA cards then I can go USB only.... but at that price I'll suffer.

I think that the telecom industry doesnt want this to eat away at itz DSL business; that's why I think the delay is ocurring. It doesnt make any sense in why Australia should be enjoying this technology much faster than us.
The telecom companies are trying to conspire as usual, against consumer's interest.

And peeps like me that cant get cable or dsl - get ****ed on
and I end up paying $100 a month for a 200Kbps cellular connection
thats hard to share - well you can share basic stuff with ICS
but every thing else is funked

I cant wait till KR1 Router comes out - not because I can use it,
but so the price of the Junxion Box will go down

I have herd the KR1 only works EVDO cards but the Junxion Box
    works with every thing -

Well, with Wi-Max coming and other 3g technologies, the Telecom are trying to get control as fast as they can. They've been lobbying against citywide Wi-Fi access at every city that has planned for it.
    They're A**holes

There are a few gotchas with the Elan U132, that we have found, they are:

    * You cannot see "signal strength"
    * You cannot see if you are in 1xRTT or EVDO networks
    * You cannot activate the card or do future PRL updates

That is because the Verizon VZAccess Manager or Sprint's Connection Manager will not recognize the card when plugged in the Elan U132, ONLY when it is plugged in directly the PCMCIA slot. For some this may not be a big deal, for others, it is a deal breaker. More info at:
