    Please,Please,Help

I have installed remote starters before, but on older cars. I installed a prestige remote starter in my 2000 Tracker. I added a CL-100 I purchased off of Ebay. After I installed the CL-100, I faxed in the paper work and waited the 24 hours. I tried starting, unlock doors features and nothing worked. I faxed in the dealer paper work and Satronics called me with my dealer ID and Pin number. I then was able to test the unit using option 2 on the phone. Every time I entered the serial number I got a responce that the serial number I was entering was invalid. After 20 or 30 tries I removed the CL-100 and saw that there was two stickers (one on top of the other) each with a different number. I called the car link number to retest the unit using the new, old serial number and still got the same response.
Invalid serial number. I sent the unit to Audiovox for repair, thinking that since it had two serial numbers maybe it was mis-programed or not at all. After a month I received a new ASCL-100 that looks just like the CL-100. I installed it and sent it in and re-faxed the paper in with a letter explaining what I did. I waited the 24 hours and then tested the unit and once again invalid serial number with the new unit. I have been working on this since September.
    I am puzzled.
    Please, Please, Please, HELP

    Thanks

I've heard a lot of bad things about systems in which you have "dial" into. The one that I have works extremely well without having to dial in and enter a code. Good luck with Audiovox, I hope you resolve the problem soon... it's COLD!

This software allows you access your car from a cell phone directly as well.

    Remote Car Starters

I had a similar problem with my remote SATELITE car starter. I would dial in the code and the response at the other end appeared normal. However, the car would not start. When I brought it back, the techs repositioned the unit further up towards the windshield to see if it was an interference problem. It was not. Apparently, the call to the woman who was handling the activations said that there have been a lot of complaints. "The units sometimes work and sometimes they do not". The owner of the shop that installed it apparently is a friend of the owner of the system. He was a bit ****ed off at his at him for not informing him of such problems. In otherwords, the system is a piece of junk right now. It is an excellent concept and there is a lot of potential for such a system but it is a bit ahead of its time until someone big into SAT systems comes along and irons out all the bugs. I would stay away from such a system until it becomes more mass marketed.

not sure if this was posted, sorry I don't feel like sifting through 7 pages.

My dad's got this setup on his plane. Basically it's just a beeper hooked up to a relay that activates a heater in the feusalage. using a beeper is cheaper and probably easier than activating and paying for a cell phone. I'm sure it's more complicated to startup a car, but i'm sure it's doable.

I don't know if anybody's interested anymore but I just found a source for the CL-100 Satellite pagers. PDA Inc out of Littleton CO has about a dozen left and they're selling them for $15.00 +$11 S&H. That's just over $25 to your door. My POC there is Jason.

I have one, haven't used it in years. I just found the paperwork...forgot all about it.
Called the 800 number, entered the pin number etc, and all seemed fine. It accepted my responses, but the car does not start.
Anyone else still use theirs? Does it still work?

I would like someone to confirm this as well. I called the fax number (805-639-0346) but it has been disconnected. This sucks as I just installed this unit. The number (800-495-7677) to command your car is still active.

    Thanks

I just called AudioVox Tech Support and they said the system is still in operation. The new fax number for activation is 619-839-3780.
