Thread: Cell Phone remote car starter

I only have a 95 Concorde, nobody will steal that. It has the stock alarm system, it should suffice. I bought this remote starter from eBay a week or so ago, I now bought the Adiovox one because the Satronics should hook right up to it.

will this work with all remote starters? I just got one installed in my car around december.. it has remote start, remote door lock/unlock. If so how hard is is to add on this system? So whatever you get the system for (cost wise) is the only fee you will ever have to pay?

You need basic soldering skills and half a brain. This unit is the shiz-nit. Way more flexible that the premade ones.

4 Inputs(Analogue i.e. Ground sensor or Digital i.e. Volt Sensor)

Ok for those of us with 1/4 of a brain exactly how does this work? Does it only work with Nokia phones??

In reference to non audiovox units compatability with the cl100; I remember seeing something about some sort of connector that can enable those units to work with it. I can't remember the name of it is so I recommend that you contact audiovox directly and ask them.

As it happens, my friend, nicknamed "Single Cell" even assembled this unit.

It works with Nokia phones which use Serial Port MBUS Cable. Basically, unlocking cables and/or data cables. The phones supported are the old Nokia's. I am not sure about US phones but in th UK the models are:
5110, 3310, 3210 etc.
I use a 5110 as is has the best better battery life.

INPUT
The unit works by pre programming an integrated circuit with certain text. The phone you use to program the text becomes the pager basically. Take INPUT 1. This input could be programmed as "BOOT OPEN". You would splice into the standard boot sensor negative trigger and input it to the SMS board. Provided the correct use of diodes is used the board should text you BOOT OPEN and the alarm will trigger.

That is the analogue input method. The digital one uses the input of a (+) voltage. Say the salt content of a container. The sensor would report different voltages as the salt contect increased or decreased. The voltage levels are set to 0 - 1.5v for a "VOLTAGE LOW" text. >1.5v for "VOLTAGE NORMAL/HIGH"

OUTPUT
Works in a similar way. You program OUTPUT1 to be triggered by "START CAR". When the text is sent the IC will outomatically send ground(-) to OUTPUT1 Pin. Which in turn can be connected to a automotive relay to switch 5, 10, 40 AMP loads.

It took me about 4 hours to solder. The kit comes complete. Delivery was fast to the UK from AUS. The circuit is very well designed, IC's pre programmed, but simple so no complications.

Anybody know where to find these cheap? I looked on eBay.. $185.. I see someone on here got 1 for $65
