Belkin PRE-N Wireless card makes noise on speaker

This isn't so much related to carputers directly but I'm assuming perhaps some of you have experienced this problem with an EPIA mb or any other kind of MITX board but I'm trying to this my Presario V2000 and use my PRE-N card instead of the built in Wi-Fi.. just to get better coverage and reliability but it creates 'crackles and pops' sounds through my laptop's speakers and through a headset if I connect one. This makes conference / IP calls impossible as it goes through the MIC too and the other party can hear it.. very annoying. Don't seem to find an idea on how to fix this? the built in Wi-Fi keeps switching speeds all the time and I really liked the reliability of this card.. but this noise issue is a problem.

    Thanks
    Nick

When I'm connected to the 'net via my bluetooth phone, I get the same thing coming through the cassette adapter wire.
I anticipate it will go away once I get the whole deal wired up properly using the DSATX and a better audio cable into a better audio source.

    It's coming together slowly....

My suggestion is to try better cables and/or move the WiFi antenna outside the vehicle, using the sheetmetal as shielding.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

Under normal circumstances, a signature would go here.
