It can be done easily. Check HowardForums. I think it costs about 25 bucks.

cmon kids lol it can be done for free. Everyone here is good with electronics and such, so this should be a no brainer. Goto motox.info, look in the unlocking forum and find the thread (should be a sticky) about unlocking the v3 for free.

It's so easy it's sad. Assuming you have any experience modding phones, and can follow directions (which I know you can)

Unless things have changed niether Cingular nor Verizon actually lock their phones to their respected networks.

Well, CDMA phones (which is what Verizon sells) can't really be locked, but they tend to do some funky stuff with their phones (like still using analogue in some places) which companies like sprint (the other major us CDMA provider) don't, so other companie's phones (and phones from other cdma countries like South Korea) may or may not work on Verizon in your particular location. Also, Verizon may or ay not activate the ESM of your particular CDMA phone if it isn't one of thirs....but, technically, there isn't any real lock on CDMA phones. As always, YMMV

Now Cingular (and Tmobile and the former ATTWS) are a different story. Cingular is a GSM provider, and as such it is relatively easy for them to lock their phones, since they use sim cards. All they have to do is make it so that any sim cards other than their own will put the phone into an "emergency only" mode. Cingular didn't used to lock their "world" phones, but as of their acquisition of ATTWS, they now lock ALL of their phones. Luckily, the RAZR is a particularly easy phone to unlock if you know anything about GSM phones and p2k phone programs.

Just use the link I provided, and just like this forum, use the search button and I'm sure anyone could figure it out.
