RFID key (another post)

so i have an e46 BMW and i want an rfid key! the new bimmers have this option... the doors unlock when you touch them and you can only start the car with the key in the car...

so, i read through some of the posts and people say the short range of passive systems won't work... i like the idea of having the chip implanted in my palm so i don't have to carry keys. now, supposing i did that, why can't i put a reader near the door handle so it unlocks when i touch it... and since the range is somewhat short... maybe another reader in the dash, right under the start button. the *only* issues i can see with this right now is that since the lock reader will be in the door, how do i get it to lock when i walk away from the car? haven't quite figured that out yet....

The other thread is in the midst of prototyping a BT solution. BT has several feet range, on the order of at least 10. Check out the thread.

Also, you might be able to find an RF-ID for the car specifically. I did find a link a while ago (it is in that thread) but I think they stopped selling it.
