I've been having problems with getting my ppc6700 and my carpc to work together. I thought that i would post this to allow others who have had problems some possible solutions, or at least things that i've done to date to get my ppc6700 and carpc to work together.
fyi: I have alltel as my service provider, and i do have the $39 data plan.
things needed:
1. the drivers off the getting started cd(look in the cdma directory)
2. a usb cable.
to do(in theory)
1)start wireless modem manager, select usb, and click start.
2)plug into the carpc via the usb cable
3)point windows to the appropriate place for the drivers(they are unsigned, but work fine)
4) use the dialer program, for alltel they do not require a username or password.
5) enjoy the internet
what works for me:
1)make sure your usb connection is straight to a port on the computer, do not use a hub(this seems to have been my initial problem). I was getting a lot of unknown device messages when i plugged the ppc6700 into a hub. not sure why, but it works great with out the hub(maybee a usb v1/v2 problem?)
