    Post Cell Phone

Ok folks phone question: I wanted to get a Treo700 but now I see the XV-6700 by Verizon and all the reads say that the 6700 is better. So Does anyone have the6700 and if so how well does it work on a car pc (connection that is)?

Also if someone does have the 6700 how is the sound? In the store the speaker volume and headset volume were really bad (low)

I have a 6700, and I couldn't be happier. Call quality works fine, I can't complain, if you want mp3's get some headphones, if you want it to work on your carpc use the ppc6700users.com forums to learn to tether. I get about 100 kilobytes down and can stream 128k radio streams just fine.

Best purchase I ever made! (Sprints service is cheaper on it however, I personally spend about $40 a month including unlimited data, insurace, and 500 day minutes)

Is the sound volume comparable to a regular cell. I am just concerned that the volume I heard in the store was a strain.

I have never once thought to myself "If only this cellphone was a little louder".

If you are that worried, buy a bluetooth headset.

Quick question? I picked up the vx6700 last week and I am very happy with it. But it needs to some tweaking. I read on your first post a site called ppc-6700. Will the info on that site work on the vx6700 (I am presuming its the same phone different manufacturer/ supplier?)

Yeah, its all the same phone and almost the same service.

A company called HTC makes a product called that apache, which has small cosmetic touches made to it and that makes the xv6700, sprint/quest/other ppc6700, and the tmobile MDA but in reality they are all the same product by the same company.

Not sure if the new rom upgrade will work for you because it says it is for sprint... My biggest gripe is its too easy to call the last person when the phone is in your pocket. A temporary solution is to clear your call history every time you are done with a call.

    Also try pdaphonehome...

I work for the largest 1x provider in North America, I play with both of these phones all day.
The Treo is junk, it belongs in the garbage. The thing is heavy, it doesn't autoprepend, the menus are impossible to navigate, and nothing is labelled correctly.
The 6700 is a god of cell phones, it has a portrait screen by default but if you slide the screen up to show the keyboard underneath, it changes the screen frmo portrait to landscape automatically so you can use the keyboard. And then it changes back when you slide it shut. The menus are easy, file management a breeze, and email much simpler.
I prefer the Blackberry over both, but I would never touch a Treo if I didn't have to.
