USB wifi antenna Q

Hey i have a WUSB54G and i was wondering whether itd be ok to extend the wire going to the antenna

this will allow me too
-leave the adaptor conveniently in my trunk
-place the antenna anywhere for maximum reception

Can i do this or will there be any problems

See- I just dont think I'd want to chance the signal loss with the extended wire. Unless you're just talking about getting a longer USB cable, which is no issue.

I have a similar wireless adapter, the WUSB300N- and I plan on mounting it right against my 3rd brake light, painting the case to match the interior plastic.

Are you worried about asthetics?

I have the same usb adapter as the OP and I can tell you that there is a improvement in signal with a external antenna.

Adding a diff. (more powerful) antenna, I could definately see being worth it. I thought he just wanted to cut off the little antenna on the side and put it up on his trunk lid or somethin.... lol
