Boondocksaint: Thanks for checkin it out! This is my first Carputer but there are many many threads here on Mp3Car.com about 2.5" drives and road vibrations. The general consensus is that it shouldnt have any noticeable differences.

However, I setup SuperDuper to make automatic clones to the external drive once a week, I dont plan on having to ever do data recovery on this Mini, especially after how long it took to get all my apps installed, registered, and configed how I like them. Simple answer: As long as you backup often, who cares?

Evankuhl: Thanks for droppin by, feel free to ask any questions you come accross.

    I totally forgot to mention:

Ordered my Carntetix 1900 w/ MacPac and extra 5v from the Mp3Car.com store last weekend, it will be here friday!

    I picked up a USA-Spec PA11-NIS yesterday!

Now all I need is the screen and it's install time!!!!!!!!

As the Mac wrangler of my former ad agency, I can safely say that I know about backups. One hour to restore a comuter with a backup image versus 9 hours to reinstall all the graphic design/web design/FTP client software.

I'll prolly back it up with an external as well, but not quite that often. I may just back it up to my PowerBook. Dunno yet.

Keep up the good work. I'm still trying to find a Mini at reasonable price. People want stupid money for a two year-old Mini. So I'm on the hunt.

Installed USA-Spec PA11–NI and an 80gb iPod video for the time being, and ran the RCA cable to the glove box since I had the dash apart anyways.

Still looking for screen options below $600.
    Kind of at a standstill.

I got the Mp3Car screen and housing used from someone here on the forums!
Installed it over the weekend, but realized I dont have the DIN converter for the Navi Cubby, and now it looks like MP3Car doesnt sell them anymore!
Also I think I killed my battery so it's time to upgrade that.

    Any battery suggestions? Optima Yellowtop?

Lots of pics and a detailed writeup will go up once I finish everything.

I've got the Optima Yellowtop, pretty happy with it.

If you are talking about the DIN converter for the top cubby above the glove box, I put a DVD drive and USB hub in there. Other than that, I can't help
