    1986 Holden VL Calais- Yr 12 DT project

    have been a looker for quite a while here now its time for my turn
    if in wrong section sorry, move if necessary

    alright I'm gonna have a crack at this but before i do anything i need to do a project portfolio for school as I'm doing this for my major project I'm currently up to the Action plan and evaluation this is where i need Your help what i need from this wonderfully forum is to give me negative and positive (mostly ) comments about what I'm doing and steer me in the rite direction

    the carpc it self will consists of ---will update this spot soon ---
    probley run a 7inch touch screen Lilliput
    enclose car PC in boot with sound equipment
    carpc will only run MP3 and DVD's for now probley get gps etc later on (not sure)
    all be run of carpc don't wanna wire up though head deck
    heres the car its going in

    hahaha, defenetly wont fit there mate, you even squished the chop to fit. Welcome to the forums, im not much of a VL fan but yours is pretty stock so its ok. Good luck with the install.

    the 7inch panel takes up a double din space, then also button space if your keeping them. You would fit a 7" LCD in the black dash area but thats it.

    ahhh thats perfect then
    check out the pic of the dash got all that space in front of the manual boot to use for switchs etc

    I used to have a VL and was planning an install for it back before 7" screens were affordable over here. So I have a soft spot for VL's, especially calais turbos

    I suggest taking some measurements of the actual screens you want to use (im sure measurements can be found on ebay/manufacturers sites/this forum) and then measuring the dash. Much easier to plan when you're not just guessing.
