    Screen problem

What the heck is this? It ran fine till a few minutes ago. Before that it worked all last week no problem. And the week before that it ran over 4 hours, back and forth no problem. I don’t think it’s a bad ground because I never touched any of its wires.

It could be interference from something you added. Maybe the rocker switches or that USB Hub?

I would have to say thats the only thing i hate about small cars, especially roadsters. To many things are close to each other. It could be a so many things. I would try taking the screen out and see how it works on a normal desktop PC. It it does then you know its an issue with you PC in the car, or some wiring.

i will recheck my cables in the car first. because this morning the screen seem fine. just the laptop is not seeing the monitor now. all usb hubs and devices seem to be working fine, just not laptop to monitor communation.

I'm on a PC, not a Mac, but I find Standby and Hibernation can play havoc with USB devices. I sometimes have to disconnect and reconnect one or more devices -- or the powered USB hub. I love the theory of USB, but the implementation in XP leaves something to be desired. Maybe Macs have the same problem.

It makes Firewire look pretty good . . . I haven't read anything about standby issues with Firewire.

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.

i think HiJackZX1 is on to something about interference. i havent had any more major problems with the setup... but i didnt do anything to fix my problem on the other hand. i have learned that monitor + sleep = problems. now that i think about it... i do have five hubs (usb) plus the dock is a Univeral host controller also. it could be somehow, a overload on the laptop with this setup... the notebook is powered so i dont know, o well!

question about the xo vision htc33

i have the xo vision htc33 but some reason i cant sync this little puppy with the laptop. i'm using the EASYCAP USB 2.0 as my bridge. any quick fixes out there? maybe a webcam editor software or something ?

yes i did have it working in the house b4 installing it into the box.
yes the htc33 is getting power and if i use one of the video in from the monitor i see video feed. when i try to hook it up the the ez cap its a no go.

i do know and use capture!! its works fine with my dynex usb cam. capture!! sees the ez cap but isnt using the analog signal. i want to use my Pinnacle Studio Ultimate version 12 for a trip thats coming up so i will take any suggestion.

Yes, I have about 17+ devices and have just now ironed out all the issues. I had to ditch a USB AirCard card and go for ExpressCard, via USB, havent tested but I am confident it will work. The USB Aircards have some kind of hibernation protection which was causing issues in only my CarPC. I also had a issue with my tuner card that records me driving for accidents, it was causing hibernation startup issues with CF. I have now ordered new devices in hopes that their drivers will be more advanced and hibernation friendly. My tuner card was about 2 years old.

Thats the thing with CarPCs... these components are ment for other enviroments, but not cars. The only thing is that the Screens and what not have been adapted to work in the car, but not speciafically designed for the car, with the exception of PSU built for the car. This leads to all the issues we all have. As the people start to add more things (especially like I have) they will run into more problems, and since we all have different tastes in hardware and software the issues will be different. In a way its cool because it forces you to learn and fix it on your own.
