Thread: 2004 dodge ram

My first post, so please forgive any mistakes!

I have a 2006 Ram 2500, so took great interest in your progress. Please let em know specifically what size screen you used and how you plan on installing. I have the radio bezel (with the knob cutouts, as opposed to the navigation bezel which is perfect rectangle). The dimensions are just such that you cannot use an 8" screen without having to do something about those radio knob cutouts, but a 10.2" screen is too large without major modification. My best option at this point is to order the nav bezel and modify it's rectangle, but I wonder what you did on your truck?

i did forget to mention about the touchsceen in my first post i have a 8in that i going to put in the dash going to work on that tomorrow still been looking around and checking out the fabercation section on here to see how i want to go about it also want to try my hand at a fiberglass sub enclosure for my truck
i know on my year of truck there is not a nav bezel i can get so in order to put the touchsceen in i have to move the climate controls down to make room. i try and remeber my camera and get some pics of my progress and thanks for the intrest

Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and ordered the nav bezel and an 8" Lilliput 859 (the newer, brighter model for 2008). I'll get them here and decide better what to do, but with all the help available on mp3car I doubt you can go wrong...I'm jumping right into it

well i work on loading and gettiing some of the programs to work today i got free fone and my bluetooth to work today all stand alone right now didnt get into roadrunner and trying it there yet probaly well later tonight but got free fone going it pull up phone book and everything and was able to dial and call my roommate from the program didnt actualy try talking through it yet but that is because this is still on the work desk in my room going to maybe get this in the truck next week .

I also have a 04 ram that i'd like to add a carputer. My hesitation is the bezel for the LCD screen. Can you share your experience in building. I would love to see some photos.

I just lucked out on a bid on ebay for a 04 bezel ($0.99) but not sure which route to take ie: Bondo, Fiberglass, Resin.

i trying fiber glass first i actully took the trim part and seperated it from the other part of the bezel .then wrapped it in automotive tape and did fiber glass about 2 layers of it so far and have started trimming it to fit right gonna work on it tomorrow after work so more i try and get some pics in case this is not making any sense been a long day already greg

here is a pic i just testting this out to see how well i can make this work this is only the second time i try fiberglass but here is a pic of what i have so far for the bezel i still need to finish triming it to size like i said it is a trial run with this dont know how well it well work

well here is some pics of the speaker i i have for the sound system all you can see is where i mounted the tweeter that came with the component speakers i have and the temperary sub enclosures i built .

ok so i thought it was about time for another update i have been working alot on this last couple days even took it out to truck and hook everything up but forgot the camera then but everything seem in good order so far just looks a mess i have just onboard audio going to a kicker crossover and then to the amps the gps pick right up and work fine with road runner but the phone program gave me problems and wouldnt work with road runner but did work in stand alone and was able to make a call except couldnt talk to other person something with mic i think play with that latermore concern with getting dash piece finish before all of a sudden it snowing here in michiganbut here is some pics of things so far
