Could you maybe post some pictures of the carputer installed. And maybe some pictures of like the storgae compartments. Also I am curious if there is any room behind the dash for anything. If you have ever taken the dash apart and know if a small computer or anything would fit there or not. I have been all over this car since it has been released in 2000 and I'm seriously considering saving for one when I get a job and installing a carputer into. I have done a lot of resarch on the interior and everything to see what would fit where. I would prefer an indash installation and move the HVAC controlls where the stereo is and install a screen where the HVAC controlls currently are. Thanks. I'd appreciate it.
As it is, you would be hard pressed to place a computer behind the dash. However if you remove the stereo, relocate the HVAC controls there would be just enough space to fit a very small form factor coputer like a mini-itx board and 2.5" hdd with pico power supply. But not alot of room. There was another mr2 build where the owner removed the guts of the headunit and placed a mini-itx board into the headunit case.
Here are some more pics that might be of use. I replaced the clock with a 16x2 character lcd as well.
Thanks man. I really appreciate it.
