Thread: 2004 Toyota MR2 TTR Spyder

Some pics of fixing a broken liliput that has been sitting in my room for a while, making an mdf case for the carputer and showing how the m4 atx sits in my case (attached to a hinged lid). Now if only if the M4 ATX would actually work.....

You can see the LCD Shroud in the first 2 pics, the other pics you can see my dodgy hacksaw skills in cutting out holes for the fans and the painted case.

Trial Run of Destinator 7:





I'm dissecting a broken bluetooth speakerphone system I got for free from work. I've added in a 1 watt audio amp to boost the signal to send back to the carputer's line in input, and an RC circuit to make it automatically turn on.



Here's it all being fit into the same original case



Finished Product (minus 5v power cord)





I'm placing my GPS reciever in the screen housing as well. Here you can see the auto on modification to the lilliput, the addition of a fan and the extension of the existing IR sensor.



I extended the wires to that USB socket on the left as the housing doesn't fit if I plug the usb connector for video in there.



This is how the circuit boards are stacked on top of each other, using some pcb spacers I had lying around.

Time to lay some cables, taking apart the interior of the car:

This stuff (looks like the power antenna relay) will be underneath my carputer.


The yaw sensor and transmission computer, not much room to spare down there!

Taking apart the middle console to run vga,usb and sound wires up to the front dash.

nice but im a bit confused do you have 2 motors in your car i have never seen a car like that before and thought at first that the engine was in the trunk and now i'm not sure....

It's an MR2. The motors are in the rear on MR2s.

Actually it looks like its a mid engine car.... so all the liquid containers are in the front? Looks like all the relays are too. What is the large hatch in the front, the battery? Wow the MR2 is a funky car.... I mean its similar to a Porsche, but Porsche has a trunk in the front. Doesnt look like the MR2 has one at all.

The hatch you see is kind of a trunk.

The spare tire is in there. There's room for a backpack too, but not much else.

From the factory they have two storage bins behind the seats. You could fit 1.5 duffle bags in the bins, but where the hell do you find .5 of a duffle bag?

I got rid of my bins and stuck two 12" Alpines in a fiberglass box there.



I can deal without the storage space.
