Man how are u getting buy with no usb devices?!?!?!?! I've been trying to reduce but somethings i just couldn't get rid of. I do post extremely fast now compared to the 30sec post of that crappy msi motherboard.
Thanx, urs is impressive too. I bought the Patriot V2, and I honestly dont see that big of an improvement. Boot times seem the same to me, but remember it could be my POST because I have so many USB devices. Once Windows is running it runs fairly fast. Things seem to transfer quickly and best of all no BSOD. I havent tried hibernation yet though.

No, what I said is I do have USB devices. Currently it has 26 USB ports. With 6 ports open. So I have 20 devices connected. Thats why my POST is so long but not over 30 seconds. If nothing is connected except the basics, then it only takes about 15 seconds or less. 4 ports are exposed for game controllers thumb drives, etc. Then the last 2 hidden ports are going to be for a hand held mouse and a Windows Remote to use with Sling Box when people watch TV.

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.

LMFAO, I would do something like that, but a trailer hitch wouldn't fit on the body kit I'm getting. It wouldn't look good either.
On a side note, I had one USB port left over and decided to open a thread on what to do with it.

I had forgotten about a project I wanted to do. It was to reprogram my armrest to work with my DQP and control key features. I found a device that was made to work with resistive buttons and what not. It was a cool device, but at $30.00 and $16.00 for shipping for a device almost the size of a quarter. I decided to think of options, then I though of it. I can buy a cheap little USB number pad and hack that apart and use the custom buttons.
Here is pictures of the panel so you get an idea.
I plan to use the arrow keys, but remove that toggle button and add a number of keys on top. I will add keys like Play, Voice Command, Volume Up & Down, Forward Rewind, mouse left and mouse right. I will also add buttons for the DQP for 3 way view, and 4 way view. 3 Way is for normal driving, covering rear, left and right. 4 way consisting of the before mentioned, plus a forward facing Cam for track driving.

I started to realize I needed more then one more port so I ordered a new 4 port hub. Into it will go a mini DVR, the armrest keypad, and a Card Reader. I am trying to see if its worth putting in a powermate. I already have so many ways to adjust the volume. I may just leave a port open for future expansion.
I did a bunch of tweaks for the OS to work flawlessly with my SSD. Somewhere I messed up because the PC is so slow when installing things. I also installed CF, but messed up install a plugin and killed the setup, have to wipe it out and start over. I will do that today.

I decided to look for a backup software for my install. With this new SSD, I am having alot of issues when experimenting with it to make it fast. I found this page http://http://www.thefreecountry.com...andimage.shtml, which then led me to this page http://www.partimage.org/Main_Page. I am hoping it will work, since Norton Ghost failed me.

OMG, Ghost failed you? THE WORLD'S COMING TO AN END!!!!!!!!!!! *hides under his bed*
LOL, but seriously, it failed you? It has never failed me, though, I've failed it... I used it for backups and I hadn't backed up in a week or so, and when I went to back everything up, the HD to be backed up was dead.... Partimage looks good, I may have to try it.

Ghost backed up my images perfectly, but to restore them was a mission. The SRD disc would freeze all the time. Even when I tried to make a custom SRD disc for my PC with its drivers, it would freeze Ghost 100%. I have used older versions also and the system would act funny. I am officially anti Norton. I get rid of their bloated Anti-Virus a long time ago and use Windows One Care now.
