I use Clonezilla a lot for image backups. I have not had any problems with it.

I saw Clonezilla..... since you have used it, what happens if your Windows install crashes 100% and you cant boot into Windows... Can you restore from a rescue disk? Does Clonezilla have a resue disk?

I have never came across that problem. I don't remember seeing where to create a rescue disk inside clonezilla. However I have seen many people using Clonezilla-SysRescCD. Clonezilla will boot directly into the disk doesn't attempt to hit windows so i'm sure it would fix the problem but I can not tell you for sure. I have not used it as a rescue disk so i'm not much help.

I'll keep an eye on it.....

Other news, My front screen kicked the bucket. The controller has gone bad and I think its because of the Florida heat. I have decided to go ahead and replace all the screens with the LED versions, which dont produce alot of heat. I will still go ahead and use fans on all screens for extra cooling. Its a very expensive blow to my install. I am starting to think that maybe I should put this project on hold till I have a steady income coming, because its going to be awhile till I can replace this screen.

Yes I did.... Thats what I dont get. Mind you the screen was always warm, even with the fan. I just dont think CCFL screens are made for florida. I think also mositure may have got into it, because I notice that the outside screws had a layer of rust on them. Infact the metal on the frame is also rusted. Maybe i have a A/C duct that is blowing cold air into the compartment. At this point though I am very tired. I am losing intrest in the CarPC, so I am going to stop for now and pick it up next year. I will be working on the speaker system though. PC wise though I have to stop, it is frustrating me so bad.

OK, I found out what it is. The controller has a flaw on the screen. When you hit the auto adjust button on the screen, it actually blows out a chip on the controller. Once that happens it can no longer use 800x600. Toaster said its not a big deal, but for me it is, especially since I have 8 other screens going in. I know another RES like 800x480 will not look good on a 19 inch. So I called my Lilliput dealer, hes awesome, he has a extra controller board laying around and is going to sell it to me. Only $60.00.

I went to the Florida meet yesterday and was inspired by Kimota to redo my audio set up. All wiring will be riped out, all speakers replaced and all amps were replaced. Just to make sure I follow through, I decided to give most of my AMPs away at the meet, forcing me to have to upgrade. i decided to go all Alpine.

The Sub AMP will be a Alpine PDX 1.600 with a 500 RMS 12' SUB. Then all the rest of the speakers will be powered by 2 Alpine PDX 4.100. So thats 100 RMS to all the rest of the speakers. The six side speakers will be upgraded to 6 1/2 component speakers and tweeters. The two 4x6 will be updated to 5x9. They are for the center and phone speaker. I have to update my AMP wire from 4 guage to 0 guage, then rip out the cars original speaker wire and run 12 guage wire. The only challenge is running the new wires in to the doors, there is an annoying connector in them. I may also buy 2 of the 4 screens so I can get the wiring and mount those in the doors also (kill 2 birds with 1 stone). i guess the car meet gave me fresh new breath. I have now let go of having a timeline and I am going to slow down. Also my SSD is a ***** to set up. Ive decided to just go with either a different brand (recommened by Kimota) or go back to a HDD.

Hopefully you will get some wind back under your wings. Your truck is looking great especially if you get the logos. How was the meet? Hopefully the weather was better then the Chicago one.

I was hot as hell, but very windy. John1701 couldnt set up the tent. Then we ate at Denny's and slowly everyone started to leave. Me and Kimota are chatter boxes so we were last to go. i wanted to get the audio information correct.
