Wow! Nice Work Log, sweet install too! Took me a couple days to get through it all!! The wife has an 04 Durango and I would love to put a CarPuter in there as the dash is huge and the truck has a TON of space to put things.

You've got me hooked to see how everything turns out!

Dude your giving me a big head following my recommendations

I'd spring for the audio stuff before the SSD. I mentioned it before but the only reason I have an SSD was work paid for it .

    Keep up the good work.....

OHHHHH a 2004. That one is the new body style. The one I hate, it looks too soccer mom like for me. Thats why I went with the 2003 that looks more muscle truck. All I know, you have way more room to work with. So I would love to see how yours turns out too, if you decide to do it.

Im all set now..... Its going to be Alpine with audio. The SSD drive is going to also be a MTRON PRO, but instead I'm going after the MTRON PRO 7500 which is made for SataII. It is still cheaper then what you paid for your and has more room. I'm getting the 32 gig version. It runs $499.99. I just didn't trust any other brands anymore. I have seen the MTRON in your install and see that it works flawlessly. In fact, just about all my audio is copying you, lol....

Today I ordered the hinges for my dash top screens. Elesa USA Corp was very helpful and was willing to allow me to order what i needed. Maybe I can work on this project while I save up for all my upgrades.

    Wow very nice job!

One question though from the looks of it you plan to put in several touchscreens to control the content that is shown to your passengers which is cool. Do you have seperate computers for each or what?

The way it works is its all one PC, but it can multitask. I am testing the CF 2.2 which now gives the front and rear their own controls. Say the rear wants to play a movie while I listen to music. They start watching the movie and it is routed to a 3rd soundcard which is connected to I/R headphones. Then if they want everyone to see it and hear it, they can hit a push button which sends audio and video to all. The PC has 2 ports, VGA and DVI-D. The VGA is for the front screen. The rest are connected to the DVI-D port which have 2 powered VGA splitters which split that to the remaining screens.

Well that is interesting. I have dreams of grandeur, if not illusion, for my future carpc as well. I want to mod out a subaru impreza and plan to put in 4 touchscreen monitors. This is the key part of the install though. I was saving it for my install but I think it's too good not to share. It allows you to create virtual computers. In other words with one pc I could have 4 seperate pc's. Just thought it was something interesting to share. Good luck on your install.

OH wow, that is so cool....... Alot of people would love this idea. I dont really want to split up my PC like that, because it looks like it can split up screen and keyboard, but not sound..... OH wait.... it does do sound... this is so cool.

Only thing that bothers me is that it needs a PCI slot. Currently I have a X-Fi soundcard in the slot.

Actually it can split up sound because it just makes virtual computers so they don't interfer with each other. You can assign usb ports to specific virtual computers so I would just use seperate usb headsets and everybody could watch and play whatever they wanted.

Sry to clutter your worklog, just excited about sharing!

I started this thread in case you want to respond again...

Edit: Lol you edited yours and found that it does split sound, so now my post looks funny.
