I think thats the one part of my build people are interested in seeing. I think its rare that people have it flip from the dash. I will post some pictures of the dash mods i had to make to fit the guts of the screen. Also to hold the circuits up was a real challenge. I was going to build something custom to hold it all in, but I then realized that I can simply use the back half of the Lilliput and JB Weld it into place, because i decided to do it this way, I new case type thing will have to go over the top so it removable when i have to get to the circuits.
I will take some pictures today and post what i have so far.

Today I finished up every with the center console as far as building it. I bought wood filler and filled in all the uneven gaps so its looking nice. Once the filler is dry (it says 60 minutes, but im giving it a day) I will sand it down and start on covering it with leather. I bought spray adhesive a glue gun to help. Here are pix of the console with it filled....
This console has been discontinued and a new one in its place.

Don't forget to get some thin foam to pad the sides, this will help the vinyl lay out flat. 1/8" - 1/4" should be more than enough.
So far so good!

It actually has a pad attached to the vinyl, should I still go ahead and put more? I tried to do a small part of it myself and it came out really bad. I think I may have to take this to a professional. I am so dumb when it comes to this stuff.... I dont know what parts I should attach first. Im going to have the same person that did my seat do this for me since she did a great job.

Take a look at this thread:
Suburban center consol
specifically this pic:
This happens when the spray adhesive isn't padded (or they didn't let the glue set up before they wrapped it, and it ended up evaporating and creating air bubbles).
I'd recommend taking it to the person who did the seat, especially with all the wierd corners and everything. Inside corners are really hard to upholster.

Hey HiJack, you said you were all worried about your hard drive, have you thought about using a SSD hard drive, no moving parts at all. (Solid State Drive) It's like a huge digital camera card.
Ive heard so many things about SSDs that I have mixed feelings. I heard they are slower to access information. I also hear boot times take longer. We'll see. Also they are more expensive. I may buy a 20 gig and put the OS on there and have all my music on the regular drive. Once I have a good flow of money, I will possibly look into it.
Now that I have been reeducated on SSD drives, I am going to go ahead and buy one. They actually are better, more stable and increase boot time speed.

From everything i have heard, the seek times are cut drastically for a SSD drive than for a standard hard drive. They are a bunch more expensive, but i think you are on to something with the os on a SSD and the music on a standard drive, maybe some rubber bushings for shock absorbtion? (?sp)
