I too have a miata (2002 SE) and am putting together a CarPC based on an AMD Geode SBC. Lots of good info in your thread - thanks.

I really like how clean the screen install looks. I splurged on a CarTFT transreflective because I almost always have the top down (sunny California) and wanted to be able to see the screen in direct sunlight.

I was originally going to try to recess the screen behind the dashboard so I could cover it with a fake factory radio - something to try to keep thieves away. However, I really like how clean yours looks. Aren't you worried about theft, though?

Do you have any pictures of how the screen mounts to the ByByte kit? I presume you had to dismantle the screen and just mount the LCD and electronics to the back of the 701 kit?

Theft is a bit of a worry, though the screen does catch the eye less than the flashy head unit I used to have. Looking in thru the tinted windows it just looks like a blur of black on the dash.

I'll try get you some pics of the lilliput/bybyte mount later today. I was surprised how easy install was. Recessing should be easy too.

Well, I got most of it installed in the car today. No pictures yet, as it needs to be cleaned up first! (Did the grunt work, now I just gotta make it pretty heh)

A number of things not working/needing troubleshooting thou..

1) Touchscreen not detected. I suspect either it does'nt like the hub, or the hub does'nt like the 5m usb extension cable. May need to be powered.
2) No Audio. Have'nt used the amp/speakers in months, need to go over the wiring again.
3) The WAKE-ON-LAN only works 50% of the time. I suspect my network cable is dodge, the cable isn't tight in the slot. If a new cable fails, I'll just wire the darn thing directly to the eeepc on button.

ANYBODY know about getting rid of the Blue "no signal" screen when you turn on the lilliput? I may have to make up a power delay circuit so it waits until the PC is sending a signal before turning on. The blue screen is ugly.

But yeah, most of its done. That was ALOT of wiring!!! Just need another day to clean it up and bughunt.

hi what version of eeepc you have and what bios version.

i have a eeepc and i cannot get wake on lan to work...
just wanted to know if you got it working successfully

i might of figured out why the eeepc only turns on 50% of the time using wake-on-link

this is what i have tested figured out on my eeepc 701

eeepc will not wake up when wol connected.
1. eeepc is shutdown fully with out any A/C power
2. eeepc did not shut down clean
3. eeepc shutdown successfully but A/c power disconnected.

eeepc sucessfull wol tests
1.leave power AC connected with power. *** not best soluton as will run batt dead**
2.use standby mode

to solve this wake-on-link issue i have simply sent my power alerts in windows xp to force standby mode after 95% battery life when i turn my ignition off it disconnected the a/c power then windows alerts me to standby mode.this also makes start up a lot faster.
