Nice ride.... i still dont understand why people put huge gaint speakers that make the trunk unusable. I mean when you play movies, you arent going to be able to hear anything because the bass will drown it out.

i am actually building a custom box that will take a lot less room, I understand about the movies the bass is really bad but i am getting a couple equalizers to help it out.

    07 Charger

I came to this site looking for resources to install a carputer in my 07 Charger. I look forward to reading your updates. Right now I am putting together a parts list.

I am curious; what touchscreen did you find to fit in the console area? I am looking for a 1024x800 resolution (no less or it's not HD!). It does not need to be fold out but I'd like one to make it less obvious for breakins. Got a suggestion?

    true HD is 1900x1080.

but heres a couple things to think about when talking about HD in your car:

    • you will need a hefty computer to play true hd stuff (blurays)
    • then, after you built the hefty computer, u will have to worry about powering it, and it WILL need a good amount of juice.
    • im not sure, but i dont think u can find a screen that small thats made for HD stuff. u might have to get something in the 720p area... which is 1280x720 i beleive.

HD in your car at this time is gonna cost u, and imo, unnecessary (and thats coming from and audio/videophile).
maybe in a couple more years it will be more practical...

    just my 2 cents!

It really all depends.... my Mobo has HD built into it, and works perfect being powered by a Opus 320. Now like BERTMAN says, you have to find a HD monitor, which you will not find in a acceptable size for you car, and with touchscreen also. I have 4 screens, one being a 15 inch and the others being 7 inch. I think the picture is extremely acceptable for the screens and none of the passengers complain about the picture, thier actually impressed. Now as long as you stay VGA it will look good. If you try to use composite or S-Video then you will be getting low quality. So stay with VGA and your safe.

Hey yo!!! Having a problem... I don't know where to put the mac mini... I tried under the AC controls but it stick out about 2 inches and it inclines to the front so it sticks out.... My other option is behind the dash as you could see in the picture. I would just make a really thin cut so i could insert the cds.

    THanks for the help!!
    Doing little by little......
