sorry, don't have the relay anymore since i upgraded to the Carnetix 2140. basically set it up pretty much like this guy used his for. set up like a standard relay to complete your computer's power switch leads. wire the ground wire and "trigger" wire together to a ground. connect red wire to your car's switched 12v. adjust the timer accordingly.

well, i got some new parts, a single-din kit from Shokits and a sunlight readable Lilliput 701 with auto-back up switch wire monitor from Mo-Co-So. The Kanatech single-din kit is very impressive. The console piece is solid with amazing texture, better than OEM. The instructions are vintage Japanese precision with precise illustrations. Both the Japanese and English translations are included. Lots of wiring, harnesses and stuff I will not be using since I'm not replacing the headunit. If I did, the kit would certainly be worth $300 for sure. I can't wait to test out the monitor in the sun. I had to hack the double-din frame and rearrange the circuit boards inside in order for it to slide in the single din area while the top half would lie as flat as possible against the OEM CD player/volume knob area. The result will not be the prettiest but will be much more ergonomic overall in terms of visibility and access of the A/C controls/toggle switches vs my current install. Now I need to find some free time to install it in the car. :impatient:

    Here's some pics:

It appears to me that the work you did was way, way above the level of "hack". That looks excellent. You must mean "hack" as in "hacker", or "innovator".

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.

Well, had another masochistic night getting this installed. I forgot I had a couple huge modules sitting in the single-din "space" from my NewMiniStuff bluetooth install. Somehow got everything to fit. Here's some quick cellphone pics for now.

    Hey,

I've searched your threads and Youtube videos, but haven't been able to find out if you solved your glare problem with your dashcam? I'm looking into upgrading my webcam to CCD camera, but I want to do this right and buy the right camera from the start.
