eww.
What he means, is its better to just do a fresh install. Patch jobs and repairs wont fix all your issues 100%. You may be plauged with driver issues and failures. I am in the process of doing a clean install, when I stop being lazy. I have a 5 second black screen before CF comes back alive, which means a driver is acting up and needs to be installed. Rather then try to find the driver causing the issue, its better to just start fresh.
PS: what else are you doing to the car... I saw a tercel around the corner but he hooked it up with a spoiler, nice rims, but I hate the color and the interior.

Take my advice and nLite you install CD. I had a very old Windows XP CD (before SP1) and I kept having to find the key. My system will not work with SP1 or SP2, it has to be SP3. Because my CD is so old trying to install Windows, the SP2, then SP3, is a b!+ch and causes errors. So what I did is use nLite to make a new CD out of my old one, that includes SP3, but also has the option to save the product key inside of it. So it will enter the key for you. I didnt do like everyone else though and remove stuff to make it lighter. I was to scared of something not working. Only thing I did take out are all the language packs. I only use english and removing all the other languages brought the size from 650 MB to 320 MB.

OK, sounds like a plan. I need to find my key still, but that should be no problem if it's where i think it is(hidden folder on my laptop). I have a copy of it downloaded my laptop, IDK why I didn't think of that before... I just need the SP3 integration pack so I can slipstream the disk.

It's a hassle installing without SP3, but you don't need SP2. SP3 includes everything in SP2, so you can install any version of WinXP and run SP3; then only the current, post-SP3 updates need to be added.
But I completely agree that an nLite'd CD is the way to go. It takes a little while to get used to nLite, but it's a fine tool.

I decided to quit trying, I said forget it and am downloading the ~300mb file
(WindowsXP-KB96929-SP3-x86-ENU.exe) through BitTorrent, which, might I add, is perfectly legal because it is only an update file, not the full .iso...
