I never knew that. If they're all nominally 12V batteries, what can be damaged?

I thought the difference was size and shape; you buy the battery for your car based on what fits, and then you get to choose the amp-hour rating. If you go for an Optima, you can also choose a red top or yellow top or blue top, depending on what you're using it for. Red tops are standard automotive batteries, yellow tops are deep-discharge batteries, and blue tops are marine batteries.

    Have I been missing something?

Turtle is on hold for the moment. Yesterday at around 10am Mountain time, my mom was airlifted to the heart hospital in Alburqurque. She went in for an angiogram in Roswell and they discovered one artery is 90% blocked and another is 50% blocked. She goes in today after lunch to get them cleared out. Tomorrow she should be able to go home. I'll have to take care of her for awhile. My fans came in yesterday and I may put them in when I get home. Right now 30 minutes of sleep isn't being very kind to me. Mom snores... A lot...

So sorry to hear that, I hope she is ok. I have a screwed up heart too, but its genetic. My life expectancy is between 32 - 35 years of age, and right now I'm 29. Its very scary when your heart doesn't work right. I'll pray for her!

I think it's pretty decent of you to take care of her. Some people wouldn't; you're a good man.

My bet is they'll change her diet. Help her stay on the new track with some gentle encouragement, and tell her often you're proud of her for staying on it. It'll help, and -- although I don't know what your relationship is like -- that's kind of unexpected from most teenagers.

Life will be back to normal soon . . .

They've already told her to change the diet. This isn't the first time something like this happened. She was having minor heart attacks in 2001. December 26, 2001 she went to the ER with chest pains that she thought was heartburn. She had been taking Alka-Seltzer, which the doctors said was saving her because it has something in it like Asprin or something... But they airlifted her to Lubbock and fixed her up and I took care of her then. She's 67, I'm 16. This is no surprise for me. But at least I can drive this time around.

I have a Mitral Valve Prolapse, with major big time mitral regurgitation. They told me in the beginning that it wasn't a big deal, that its common in women. Then it kept getting worse and worse till I was bed ridden for almost a year. This cr@p has also caused neurological damage, I'm deaf in one ear from it, major memory lose (I literally do not remember child hood at all) and half the time, you know when you leg falls asleep, like little needles poking you, imaging that on your face and other parts of your body times 100 for almost 3 hours at a time. All the meds they have to fix it do not work anymore. Also when I get mad (everyone knows I have a temper) my heart cannot handle adrenaline so I will literally collapse after an argument. Cant drink caffeine or any stimulant. They say the valve is going to fail resulting in complete heart failure. They say they can replace it, but I will most likely be in pain and have to have the valve replaced every so often, also I will have to take blood thinners for all my life. Id rather just kick the bucket and move on. The life stream did this to me for some reason, so I'm not going to fight destiny.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. Who knows? Maybe God(or Fate, or whatever you believe) will throw you a curveball and you'll live to a ripe, old age.
