HiJack, I got the SSD today. Now I just need to find my SATA cables...
Got a 16GB SSD as well, it will be the main drive(OS, CF, iG) and the 32GB will be for music and stuff. Got the 16GB installed to. Disabled Page File usage, installed EWF, and went to enable HORM... Apparently I left an installer out of the files I posted. As soon as I track that down, I'll be back in business.
I have bad luck with vehicles...

Updated the EWF Manager Lite in the Downloads section. Fixed an issue where it couldn't find ewfapi.dll because I forgot to put it in the ZIP...

Also, I'm getting ready to load up my music and videos onto the 32GB and enable HORM. I found my SATA cables!!!! YAY! This is all almost finished! *knocks on wood*

I'm still tweaking things, but right now I'm getting 30-45 seconds cold boot and around 20 seconds from hibernate, but I haven't set Centrafuse to be the shell yet. So there's going to be a little more time to allow for that.

Using Centrafuse as my shell stretched things out a bunch. I finally stopped using it as the shell. When CF3 comes out, I'll give it a shot again, because I'd prefer to use CF.

Since I have the car torn apart again, it's not an issue, right now.

If just enough is really good, then too much ought to be perfect.

I'm glad to hear you finally got it. I highly recommend the setup you are going after. That patriot warp is so cr@ppy trying to use it as OS drive, it works best as a media drive. Reason being its a MLC based drive.

Vinc, make sure the SSD drive you get is a SLC based drive. If you go for a MLC drive and use it for the OS, your going to have a $h!+ load of headaches. I tried everything with that d@mn drive and it just worked so funky as main drive. I sold it to freeflash because I couldn't stand all the tweaks I had to do to the OS. I also had issues installing programs. Programs that should only take about 2 minutes to load, would take almost 30 minutes.

My understanding is that although it does make booting faster, it isn't that much faster. Be careful with CF as a shell. I had alot of issues with it. I even had a problem where it would load up CF as a shell and then crash and I couldn't get back into Windows to fix anything. I simply added CF to the startup folder, so as soon as Windows starts, CF comes on. You will only have to see Windows when doing a cold boot. If you are using HORM, or Hibernation, CF would just pop right up anyways, because it was the last thing you were on.

I agree. I thought CF3 was simply a pretty version of CF2, but it turns out its been rebuilt from the ground up. In saying that, Shell Mode may work better and more reliably.

HiJack, why is your icon Bruno???

I think I'll just add CF to the StartUp folder. CF3 can't come quickly enough!

Where can I get the Lilliput EBY701 drivers? I lost my CD...

Im bored of Ridge Racer for now, and since I saw Bruno yesterday I thought it would be funny to have the icon. Especially since that movie is so stereotypical of gay people, which I am.

Yea using the startup folder would be the more stable idea.

a friend of mine has the OCZ SSD in his computer with windows xp pro and got it started in 16 seconds without even much tweaking etc

I may have a slower type. But it serves its purpose for me. I haven't had time today, I'm gonna try to do a little more tomorrow.

BTW: This looks interesting...: $10 Volume Knob Fabbed
