A 1000W, hard-wired, pure sine-wave inverter. And ya, I pretty much burnt up everything... Right now, it's all in "bench test", but I have remote access for when it's in the car and I need to update stuff. I just plug it into an extension cord and access over WiFi. I just need to cut a hole in the top piece of the case for ventillation, and everything will be done...

I would just get rid of the inverter. I have had 4 hubs, two wi-fi cards, and one aircard fried because of an inverter. I have since replaced all inverters with DC-DC units and have no issues at all.

The thing is, I don't have the $$$ for a DC-DC PSU now. All of the things that got fried were a direct result of my negligence while bench-testing. I let the CPU get too hot, and it ended up shutting everything down for safety, but it was too late, everything had already fried. The inverter had nothing to do with it (in this case.) I plan on getting an OPUS later on.

Got everything reinstalled, running good. Installed VNC and LogMeIn Free for remote access. I ran an extension cord out to my car last night so I could finish copying my backups back over. I lost more than half of my music, but I can get it all back through re-downloading it all(I hope). To recover the hard drive would cost more than $2k, so that's out of the picture...

Last night, Saul and I took the case and cut holes in the top for ventilation so the CPU doesn't overheat. Now the problem is, SPACE! There isn't enough space for the slightly larger HDD that is replacing the old one. (See post #70) I figured out, I really don't need a HDD full of music, I have XM!!! But I am gonna put Qtrax on it and see how that works out. (Is there a plugin for Centrafuse and Qtrax? I'll check in a few.) I'm gonna try to get over to Saul again today and see what we can figure out.

Next steps:

Fix spacing issues
Re-re-wire(yes, that's two re's)
Hide wiring
Finish bezel(That's in Saul's hands ATM)
Test on road-trip(Spring break's coming up in two weeks! YAY! )

My install just got changed again also, decided to upgrade to 8 screens rather then 4. Also decided to drop my 15inch touchscreen project and update to a 19" VGA flipdown. All these changes will require rewire number 5, so dont be discouraged, all this stuff is done trial by trial basis, there is no manual for use to go look at at.

Holy cow -- eight screens? Can you even fit eight people in that car?

LoL, before the PC install, yes, but now I can only fit six people. The reason for 8 is because 3 in the front, 2 for driver (one only shows movies and is flipped down while driver, the other is for NAV, OBD2, etc), one for front passenger, then 2 screens for the second row, then 2 screens for the third row, then a large 19" inch I am buying so the rear doesnt have to strain their eyes on the smaller screens. I have a 15 inch, but I decided to upgrade since I modded it and it didnt work out. Infact its for sale. 15 inch with touchscreen all for $150.00 or less. It will require a USB touch controller though and mods.
