I agree with this 100% I know when I bought alternator #2, I saw alot that put out such low power at low RPM. It took me awhile to find one that put out 110 at idle, then at 1200 RPM is putting out full 220 amp.

I am so stupid... I decided that I NEEDED my XM fix tonight, but yesterday the wind blew my antenna off the house. At 8pm, I climbed up on the roof to put it back, the wind almost blew the ladder down as I was coming down off the roof. I also thought I burnt up my XMPCR because it couldn't get a fix on the signal. I left it on for a bit, and it reset and locked in. I am now getting my BPM fix. I still need to get the docks and my cupholders made... I need some more epoxy...

I also forgot to mention that I didn't have to reformat or restore, Windows 7 has an error checker that fixed everything for me. I have decided I LOVE Windows 7 now.

Also, any suggestions as to how I should build my docks? I need to build one for the Turtle and one for my MAC...

I love BPM also. Especially Armin Van Burens show.... to bad I cant listen since I have a XMDirect, and since im too cheap, I only get music channels and no internet connectivity with XM.

Microsoft finally came out with a awesome replacement for Windows XP. I am going to be all over Win 7 when I get my new PC in. Your docks? Maybe a missed a post? UGH at Mac.

I like Armin Van Buren's show, too, but I don't get to listen to it much. I'm usually too busy or sleeping.

Ya, I modded my XMPCR to fit in a dock-type setting and I also replaced the stock (ugly) green LED with a blue one. I personally like my little MAC. It comes in handy for my iPhone jailbreaking and things of that nature. It also helps that the guy I got it from threw in a brand new copy of Photoshop CS4.

I'm trying to figure out how to build my docks so I can swap my XMPCR from car to home without much trouble. A base that has the male plugs for each port that I just slide the XMPCR into, and slide it out of, kinda like a laptop dock. But, I want it to look good, not rushed...

I was soldering another LED into my XMPCR and I dropped solder on the component side of the chip. Several little resistors came loose and I can't get them back on... So I guess I just killed my XMPCR...

Use a better fine tipped soldering iron, like a 15W from radioshack. You should be able to solder them back on. Make sure they are in the right spot as resistors and capacitors both come in 0402 or 0608 packages.

I just got another one on eBay. I called XM and they said they can transfer the subscription over to the new one. They offered me the Onyx with the full car kit for $20, but I turned it down for this other XMPCR so I can still have it for my CarPC. I'll have to be more careful this time.

EDIT: I HATE soldering small components. I did a computing project ONCE that required it, and I swore never again...

I bought 2 before I figured that out.
