finished installing the amp and now car wont start at all! Unhooked, amp, carnetix, computer, touchscreen and the car still will not start. Anone have some suggestions, I have checked fuses, vaccuum hoses, emanage, maf sensor.
Ok, well im starting my first car pc project in my 2005 toyota corolla xrs. I am going to be using the following equipment.
Used emachines m5105 laptop
Carnetix p1900
Lilliput eby701
300w amp
Still trying to decide which gps to go with and how to get radio. Debating between a usb fm receiver, hd radio, satelite radio, or internet radio via my wireless service or possibly clearwire. Money is my largest obstacle right now so im trying to get everything done as cheaply as possible. The second video you can sorta see how the interior looked before the install of the touchscreen.

Ouch. Does the starter spin at all, or is there nothing happening at all? Dash lights? Etc.
The obvious start would be to check the battery. Even if the lights come on and the motor turns over in some cases if there is not enough power it still won't start, but thats rare on newer cars. Easy test would be to try jumper cables with another car.
If it turns over fine but just wont fire the engine then have the OBD-II scanned and see if it comes with a fault or a code for a sensor. Stupid things can happen when doing electrical work in cars... cars are too fancy and sensitive these days.
i jumped the car and no worky, i then checked for any codes and none.....stumped at the moment.
well i'll be darned, my spark plugs were all fouled...it had nothing to do with the amp. Car runs fine now.
wow, that was a coincidence... how many miles are on the car?
48k, plugs are only about 20k old though but the car runs really rich due to a supercharger on an already high compression engine.
Glad to hear the car's starting again. How's the car PC going?
