The negative comment was made 50 minutes after you posted. My first one was not negative, simply a statement of amusement. As for Apple, I don't have an opinion one way or another. Never really used Apple products or had a reason to. My comment was not about how you said what you said, it was about the fact that you said it. This is a thread about bugbytes iTouch/iPhone install. I just fail to see the point in posting about how apple users buy stuff for the hype and generally trying to put down on his hardware. Let's stop with the thread hijacking.

I happen to know a lot abotu smartphones and I dont think u can kill a carpc with an iphone/itouch. so I gave my 2 cents. did nto know that was a crime.

Please just delete all my posts if you decided to move them to off topic. I just posted my video because I genuinely thought it would help the OP based on what he's trying to do. As I said I did not read the 12 pages. I just read the OP's post. I think I may have posted in the middle of an argument or something so it looked really bad in my part and everyone jumped on me.

There's no crime in giving your 2 cents worth. The issue here is that Bugbyte is intent on a course of action, and he's elicited a lot of interest and support. There's little to be gained by telling him and those who are reading this that the object of their affection is obsolete or outperformed. It's like telling a mother she has an ugly baby; what's the point of even saying that?

It's a good idea not to flame what people appreciate, even if you think you know a lot about the topic; we aren't here to flame, but rather to encourage and facilitate what others do, and to learn from their successes and failures. No matter how much you or anyone -- including me -- may know, whatever we say is only our opinion. No matter how strongly we hold it or how much we believe we can prove it, it's still only an opinion.

While posting negative comments gets attention, creates drama, and gains notoriety, none of those things is the point here. Positive comments, plus pictures, links, and detailed information on successes and failures -- much like most of what's been posted here -- is what gets us excited. That's what makes it a community worth joining.

If you think the Windows Mobile Phone is a godsend, there's a forum here on MP3Car for you and the many others who think like you. Your message will be well received there, and it won't be considered flaming or threadjacking, because Windows Mobile phones are the object of the forum. If you want to compare iPhone and Windows Mobile phones in carPCs, maybe you'll want to consider posting in the Mobile Device forum.

I'm sure you're trying to help people avoid disaster. But the people writing and reading this forum don't want to be dissuaded; they want ideas and help in making their dream come true.

That's my 2 cents worth . . .

As I said in my last post I did not know it was an issue. I did not read all 12 pages of this and I think I posted in the middle of a war zone. Feel free to delete my posts.

But like I said I did not post my video to flame iphone and such the title of the thread is " Help Bugbyte kill his car PC with an iTouch/iPhone install".

I do not think the iphone is a device that can kill a carpc and I was simply giving another option with a device that can. Did not expect to start a war here.

Okay, you're done posting here -- but don't leave MP3Car; post in other threads where your knowledge of Windows Mobile phones can help others. I wasn't trying to shut you up or chase you off; I just want to help keep things where they belong. I'd still like to see you offer your videos to the Windows Mobile forum. I suspect you'd get some interesting and positive comments there.

You're a newbie, and you don't know all the rules and protocols and traditions. That's okay; we all started out as newbies. You'll figure MP3Car out, and I'd bet you'll find it's a good group.

Thanks for your post. I'm not offended if you think the iPhone is crap. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned numerous times in this post that it is an imperfect device. While some have observed that I'm a bit of an Apple junky (I plead guilty), the point of replacing my car PC really isn't about using an iPhone, it's about:

1. Smart devices that are portable
2. Connected to the net
3. Flexible enough to be adapted for enhancing the mobile experience

How about helping move the mobile device community forward with replacing car PC's using a Windows Mobile phone? It sounds like you have a lot of knowledge about this. Post up a thread explaining what you did and how it makes the mobile experience better.

How do you solve the issues of a tiny screen?
How do you solve the interface issues in the car?
Are there limitations to the storage?
Are there limitations to interfacing the device with the car or outside environment?

The more the merrier, as far as I'm concerned. Smart, mobile devices are the NEXT BIG THING. However, I would ask that you start your own worklog and offer the crowd an opportunity to assist or weigh in on the approach.

Nice of you to reply bugbyte, was worried you would be upset about the whole issue I created here.

the video I posted is long and boring but the amount of features I pointed out is amazing. anyone can feel free to PM me if they have any questions about anything in the video (if anyone actually watches it).
