That reset switch line is probably just 18-gauge wire. You could solder as much as you need in the middle and avoid having more connections; connectors are generally where trouble arises. The cable you have gives you the ends you need, and 18-gauge wire is cheap; you want to be sure it's stranded, not solid. If you have an extra ethernet cable, it's likely a good source of that wire. Another good source is old discarded computer cases, especially tower models.
