    Wednesday May 6th:
Well I'm happy with the heatshrink on the wires. It turned out pretty well.

It was a tight fit getting the wire into the female molex, but I am very confident it will not be going anywhere anytime soon.

I had quite a lot more issues with the male molex power than I anticipated. I have yet to figure out a good way of keeping the wire attached to the solder points - I don't feel that solder will keep the wires in place very well. If anyone can provide insight into this issue I'd sure appreciate it.

I've tried just pushing the wire into the points, but that doesn't stay. I tried heatshrink over the top, that pulls the wire off. I've tried twisting the wire around the points - it just falls off as well. My final thought was some sort of super glue, but I'm not a big fan of that idea.

I'm going to talk to the folks at Digi-Key tomorrow, as they are the ones that advised me on this specific molex connector, and see what they have for thoughts on this.

You're not bugging, but I did post the times.

    Initial Times:
    Time To POST 9
    Time To Start Menu 35
    Time To Shut Down 23
    Time To Standby 13
    Time To Resume 3

    Revisions 1:
Update: I knocked 2 seconds off POST time and 5 seconds off Time To Start Menu by adjusting the boot order (Took all but HD out, HD is first). Guessing the 5 seconds is because I had the XP disc still in the drive. Duh.

But I haven't had a chance to finish the changes injector suggested, and I'm sure those will make a difference.

As a side note the MP3Car.com shipment JUST arrived. Right now I'm in heaven. I will have to get it home and test it all out tonight.

thanks for the quick reply! but the times are looking very impressive.
You should definitely optimize it as much as you can, because its really nice to have quick start up.
In my setup, i've turned off everything that is not being used: ie. FDD controller, sata ports, serial controllers, turned on optimized boot/quickboot (your may/may not have it), and so many more. Go look into a bios manual to see what each things are (if you are not familiar with all the functions are).
If the POST time gets below < 3secs i think i might consider jumping on this mobo, because its cheap, fast and has none of the problem that comes with the dual core atom.

Punky I'll sit down tonight, get the BIOS tweaked and retime.

My ideal plan would be for the computer to standby, 3 second resume time - I'm not even out of the driveway in 3 seconds so that time is lookin' good.

I don't have a video cam, except the one on my phone, but I can record the times for you as well, help you make a more informed decision.

I'm quite happy with the board overall though.

how do you plan to keep the computer in standby? looking at the m4 manual, it seems that it'll turn off within a given time (2h max).

Well hibernate is what I meant I apologize, and no only 2 hours. My brain just began spitting things out.

I am going to have the M4 in the P6 Mode (30min/1min). In my head I was thinking that when filling up for gas or stopping in to grab a few groceries - that kind of stuff will be fine. In the mornings I'm not even on the main road for at least a minute, and that's usually when I go to turn on the radio or mess with the music anyways. For me as is the times are great. I want them to be less but would be happy as is.

    Sorry about the confusion.

Punky, I made the changes but I didn't have a chance to record the times. I got busy messing with the M4 and trying to get my desktop PSU to boot the M4. I screwed up and need to reread the thread with instructions.
