Yikes no offense meant to you Jebus LOL! The last thing I want to do is offend the person that has made the best voice control plugin available on a CarPC PERIOD!

I am in China for the next few weeks, and have obviously gotten nothing done on the car since I got here 3 weeks ago.

I did however get word that my complex cited my car for work being done on it I got an extension for the towing notice, till I get back home. Then I need to get it all tidied up, and put a car cover on it. Will only be able to work on it when the office is closed on Sundays and in the evenings.

    I HATE Home owners associations!!!!!!!

In the mean time, I think I have found a sweet little PC to put in the car while I was over here I will post more details on it later.

    Have you seen this?

    http://www.carlustblog.com/2010/05/a...uxferrari.html

A Ferrari 308 with a Fiero engine, on sale on ebay for like $15K.

I think it's cool in a way. The American spec 3.0V8 was about 215-235HP, I believe, and a Ferrari is a lot about suspension and chassis dynamics. Also probably somebody blew that engine beyond repair...

Of course the lack of a true Ferrari engine is a BIG F* deal, but hey, the guy is not asking for much. LOL

What says you? How much is the Fiero outputs anyway? Can it be tuned in excess of the OEM Ferrari engine?

Strangely, I like this faux-Ferrari a lot...just lose the goofy wheels...

You can do a pretty easy swap out with a mid 90's supercharged 3.8L v6 from a GM sedan and bump those up to some serious power. There used to be a supercharger kit like that aftermarket for Fieros but I doubt you could find one now. Maybe a Paxton or Vortech one. Sounds like the Supercharged 3.8L V6 swap would be the way to go. That one in the second link I posted there turns low 12's in quarter mile.

Some progress on the Fiero interior

Ok with really working a LOT on DFX5, I have been torn away from the car! hahah It seems like one or the other...

Well I did squeeze in some time this weekend to get one of the door panels covered, as well as one of the seats.

The seats covers are from a guy named Mr. Mike. His quality is OUTSTANDING! I ordered the covers in black and blue, with a Blue Fiero logo, and blue piping around the bolsters of the seat.

DO NOT confuse these with "slip on" covers! The are designed to completely reupholster the seats. There are steel hog rings, metal rods and an array of stuff to tie into the covers, and attach them to the seat. The first step is to strip the seat down completely of all previous upholstery, and separate the top and lower sections of the seat, and remove all rails and hardware. It took me around 3 hours to do just the one seat.

Here are a couple screen shots of the seat, and the door panel to match. I probably should have wiped down the door of all the dust and dirt before taking photo's hahah

In the past couple of weeks, I was able to finish the front of the car under the hood/trunk. I pulled everything out, sanded, sanded some more and painted everything. I found some really cool water proof vinyl for ink jet printers. Print anythingon it, peel the back and stick it on. I ran it under water, just to check first and rubbed really hard, and none of the ink came off... impressive. So I printed up exact duplicates of the original stickers that were in different places in the front of the car. Using the same exact colors, fonts, spacing, size ect. While I had everything apart, I went ahead and replaced the electric fan motor, it worked, but then again it is 25 years old

    So, here is the "before"

    And here is the "after"

Now I just need to rebuild the headlight motors, and buy all new relays and such for them as well. I decided to replace the headlights that were stock on the car. The HUGE 6" by 8" single lights. I am replacing the headlight bucket with a low profile bucket that will only open about 4 inches when the lights are turned on. Each bucket will have 2 lights in them.

Here is what it looks like when converted:

    Stock headlight---------------------------------------------Twin Headlight low profile

So much more yet to do........

By the way... that is not what my front bumper looks like, I went with a Ferrari 355i Front bumper More about that in a later post....

Whoah, hold on there a minute, you can't just throw that in there without giving us more details on this magic vinyl.
