OHHHHHHHHHHHH! Well my rear taillights happen to have after market tail lights that look stock, but are LED. So I think Im going to buy those. I would love to do my fronts. I hate that the Durango has headlight and blinker all in one piece though. You head and tails look hot!

well, a unfortunate bump... for some reason, something died. i haven't figured out if it is the screen or the pc, but am getting kind of tired of it.. i've had constant issues with my 669 not getting along with the board. either i need to change input formats to get a input, or it doesn't want to display a picture.

so i think the first option is to install everything in a case.. at the moment, it looks to be a morex 5667 case. the first culprit i suspect is the fact that nothing is inter-connected for grounding considering that i used acrylic for a mounting base, so if any component was relying on the screw holes for a ground, it's not getting it. i'm also worried that the acrylic is creating odd static charges that is 'shocking' parts of the build.. that's all i can come up with to explain all these odd issues i keep having..

I don't think I have a 669, but I think a 701 maybe. I haven't experienced any input errors that required switching back and forth. I have experienced a little washout on colors, but nothing that concerns me...

Didn't you have your mobo mounted on plexiglass? And isn't it one the Nvidia boards? I had an Nvidia board (and if I remember right it was a step down from yours), never used the mounting holes, and it worked fine. Never mounted anything with the holes tbh, and never had an issue with that. I upgraded to one of the AMD fusion boards, and still haven't used the mounting holes and still no issues there. I do use an M4 in case you use something different for comparison reasons. I also only have a 2.5" sata hdd hooked up, and everything in my trunk is mounted to a bolt.

Is the only issue you're having with the monitor not seeing the pc, or is the pc acting up? I only say this, because after a while (and a rear end), my Nvidia board stopped working through vga (and didn't have the hdmi), thus the upgrade. Maybe the vga is spotty on these boards and some bumps or whatever could disrupt the vga connector...

first the vga was flaky. i've got a 629 which worked perfectly fine, it just wasn't a transflective, hence the 'upgrade', and 2-669's-- using vga with either of the 669's, it would at random start flashing the screen on and off. now the dvi/hdmi doesn't want to work all of a sudden. it either will display a really poor picture with mostly red coloration, or won't display anything at all.. i need to get in and check all the connectors and everything, but i'm just getting frustrated with these 669 screen issues and all my hardware not playing nice.. i tried reslotting the hdmi connector on the pc side of it, and that didn't fix it yet, even tried reslotting my ram, as i've had that happen in the past..

everything is mounted via the screw holes to the plexiglass with some stainless hardware and some 1/4" nylon spacers, all i can figure is that the plexi is messing with me, so it's time to rule it out..

man, oh, man, i think i've reached a similar crossroads with my build. out of no where everything just died and i think it may have been my power supply. my end goal is to run a fully active set up as well so this may be my excuse to rebuild now. hope the case helps your situation.

i set aside a whole saturday to work on this-- come to find out, my hdmi cable needed to be re-slotted on the screen side.. it's been working fine for the last week or so now.. still aggravates me beyond belief though..

so now that it's working again, the parts will probably sit till the next time it acts up, which, at the current rate, should be about 6months to a year..

sedtc, good luck on your (re)build! believe it or not, even with all the issues that come up, there is still no way i could go back to a hu-based setup. i've tried convincing myself a few times walking through car audio stores, but i just have a hard time justifying all the extra hoops i have to jump through that the carpc already can do without much extra effort.. the carpc does everything i want-- not perfectly, but it accomplishes it alright. my demands are so simple, yet so hard to come by... all i want is music storage(at the moment, my 120gb drive does fine), active audio processing, and a interface to play the music... of course, a hu setup will hit some of those things, but i need a ipod(have one, can't fit all my music on it, the pioneer interface was always laggy when i did use it) or something-- last i heard, many hu's don't like some external hdd's, or the formatting is odd in one way or another, so that leads me right back to the carpc!!
