I have an after market screen and yes, there is no input through the screen itself. I have mounted a USB-touchpad on top of the ashtray. Works great. The input of the headunit is connected to the audio output of the netbook.

The noted power supply also works good.

My only issue, which I knew going with the is path, is the resolution. However, I'm still glad with my choice overall. I like having a normal capable headunit and GPS always functioning. I can even leave the mouse over the "Start Logging" button on EvoScan and just click the mouse button whenever I want to log without having to switch the headunit to the "Video In" input. I use Dropbox to sync the log folders and EcuMap folders to and from the car so that I really never need to pull the netbook from the car.
